Day 2 Tuesday - Apr 20, 2016

A sunny day, by afternoon it got up to 16c, but it was a cool start at 6c in the morning.
Today we are going to explore a number of WWI sites and will also go to Ypres in Belgium.

This church was located near Ypres, I got find the exact name, there is a story of Hilter painting this church.

Our first stop was at the Commonwealth War Graves Commission Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery
The site in 1914-1920 was was the venue of the biggest evacuation hospital in the Ypres Salient area.

WWI recreated Trench at Passchendale - Check out there web site www.passchendaele.be for more information.

Evening concluded at an excellent restaurant in Arras.

Which was used by Canadian Forces in 1914-1919 for R&R, the entire square and all the buildings are connected by a system of underground tunnels, so it was very fitting to have dinner in this historic place.
